Corbieres & Cru Boutenac wine tour

The best thing about this tour is that the wine speaks louder than anything else. The Corbières region is rugged, mountainous, and largely uninhabited—so the sole focus has been growing and cultivating high-quality wine for generations.

This is perfect for wine lovers who enjoy big, strong, bold, tannic red wines! You will enjoy tasting the best of this region alongside splendid views of the countryside.

Lunch brings a touch of history and culture in the village of Lagrasse with its 1000 year old ramparts and the beautiful views of the Orbieu Valley.

The day ends in Boutenac with “cru” status wine, one of the highest quality ratings a vineyard can receive, making this tour an absolute delight for wine lovers.

10:00 — You will be picked up and taken to Château du Grand Caumont to enjoy a tour of the vineyard, wine tasting, and an exploration of the wine-making process in their cave.

12:00 — A delicious restaurant lunch in historical Lagrasse, named one of the most beautiful villages in France. You will get to see the narrow medieval streets of the village and cast your eyes upon the abbey that was founded in 779 commissioned by Charlemagne the Great.

13:30 — The tour continues in the afternoon with a visit to two small family-run domaines that are making top-quality Corbières wine. First, to the village of Montlaur to visit Domaine Fourtanier. Then to the village of Boutenac to taste the “cru” status wine at Château La Voulte Gasparets.

17:00 — You will be returned to your accommodations at the end of your wine tour experience.

    Beautiful day in Languedoc

Had a absolutely wonderful day wine tasting with Matt in the Languedoc. My husband, our two year old and I all loaded up into Matt's van where he began explaining the history of wine in the region. He is very knowledgable and answered all our questions! We went to three wineries-all very different. From large production wineries, to a tiny one in a rural mountain town, all were fabulous and gave us an excellent introduction to wine tasting in the region. For lunch he stopped along a river where he set up a fabulous lunch for the 3 of us. His wife even packed crayons be paper for our daughter to play with, so thoughtful! All in all it was a wonderful day that we would not have experienced without Matt's help. Thank you!
